ABOUT THE COUNSELLOR

Hello.I'm Dr.Anna Attwood Williams.I have worked as a counsellor for the last 20 years.

My counselling style is mainly person-centred.However,if necessary I use cognitive behavioural or NLP methods.My training involved Rogerian,cognitive behavioral(CBT) and neuro-lnuistic programming(NLP) approaches as well as specific online and telephone therapy techniques.

I will listen to your points of view and try to understand them without taking a moral stance, respecting your opinions even if I might not agree with them.

I will enable you to explore your problems as you see them and focus on your specific concerns.I will help you to define your goals and assist you so you can clarify where you want to be and how this might be achieved.I will explore your problems and help you take control of your life.

I hold a Diploma in Counselling and Counselling Skills from Glasgow College of Counselling,UK.My other professional qualifications include Advanced Certificate in Counselling and Counselling Skills from Preston Politechnic,Advanced Cerificates in Marriage and Family Counselling,Grief and Bereavement Counselling,Crisis Counselling and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy,all from Glasgow College of Counselling,UK.
I have a Ph.D. and M.Phil. in Social Sciences from Cambridge University,UK.
My BA in Sociolinguistics,Psycholinguistics and Psychology is from Lancaster University,UK.

I am a member of The Institute of Counselling,American Counselling Association (ACA),Society for Personality and Social Psychology,International Association for Cross-Cultural Psychology,International Society for Mental Health Online (ISMHO) and the World Counselling Network (WCN). I am an experienced CCC,UK THERAPISTS and NATIONAL THERAPISTS (MSFTR) registered counsellor.
